Borków and Kurozwęki. In the northern and eastern part of the province there are good conditions to practice water sports. Pilots and para-gliders are active in Pińczów and Masłów.
It is possible to practice winter sports near Kielce – in Ameliówka and Widełki. There is also a race track for cars in Kielce – the only one with the mountainous character in Poland. The network of hotels, pensions and agriculture tourist farms are waiting for tourists.
Significant attraction are the Świętokrzyskie Mountains the oldest ones in Europe. They are in the northern part of the province. On the slopes of Mt.Łysica and Mt. Łysa Góra rock debris occur that were formed in result of weathering of large rock blocks / so called block field/.
Many areas in the region are subject to legal protection. In the region there is the Świętokrzyski National Park where is the Fir Forest known from literature of Stefan Żeromski. Apart from it there are 9 landscape parks, 62 nature reserves and 9 areas of protected landscape. In the reserves are rare species of flora and fauna.
There are many limestone and gypsum hills, canyons and ravines, karst streams and caves. Large caves are of much interest to the tourists “Raj” (with 240 meters long halls and splendid karst forms like – stalagmites and stalactites) and “Zbójecka”, “Piekła” caves and “Zelejowa” reserve.
The southern part of the Świętokrzyskie Province is Ponidzie with a wide valley of the Nida River. The precious monument is also legendary “Bartek” oak-tree located in Zagnańsk. Its age is estimated basing on different document sources for 600 to 1200 years.
Excellent sacral buildings, royal castle, Długosz’s house and town hall are in Sandomierz. The palace constructed in XVII century by bishops is worthy of notice in Sandomierz.
The most interesting sacral art monuments are : roman Cistercians’ Abbeys in Jędrzejów, Wąchock, Koprzywnica and churches in Sandomierz, Imielno, Zawichost,Odrowąż and Opatów. There are also castles, fortifications, palaces and mansion houses in the area of the province.
