color="#000000">The north-west area is located on the South Podlaska Lowland. It is rolling plain with postglacial uplands. The north-east part of the province is Polesie (Western and Wołyń).
It is flat plain with marshy areas, peat-bogs and also lakes. The middle and south-western part of the province is the Lublin Upland with many ravines and river valleys and the south-eastern part is the Western –Wołyń Upland.
The southern area of the province is the Roztocze Upland range covering the distance of 15 kilometres between the towns Kraśnik and Lvov. There is the highest summit Wapielnica (387 m) in the Lublin Upland. The south-western lands is the Sandomierz Basin.
The main rivers in the Lublin Province are: the Vistula River, the Bug River and the Wieprz River and the Bystrzyca River, the Huczwa River and the Krzna River.
The Lublin Upland has got rare drainage and the areas around Lublin are threaten by shortage of water.
Big reservoir of water is located in Polesie and particularly in its southern part with many lakes (68 lakes on Łeczyńsko-Włodawska Plain) where the largest are Lake Uściwierz (2,8 sq. km) and Lake Wytyckie ( 2,7 sq. km).
The largest forest complexes in the Lublin Province are: Solska Forest, Janowo Forests , Parczewo Forests and Włodawa Forests. There are two national parks; the Polesie National Park and the Roztocze National Park and also many landscape parks in the Lublin Province. |
