The run of good luck for the Hotel "Pod Or³em" began already in 1993, when it was awarded the first of the prizes, namely the above-mentioned distinction of the Minister of Culture and Art. One year later, the institution was awarded the Recommendation of the Polish Association of Hotels; since 2000, as the first hotel in Bydgoszcz, "Pod Or³em" has boasted four stars.
In 1996 the hotel was awarded the "Z³ota Malwa" ["Gold Mallow"] and in 2000 the "Srebrna Malwa" ["Silver Mallow"], which are famous prizes awarded by the biggest all-Polish ranking of consumers. The many years efforts, undertaken for the purpose of restoring the former splendour, were crowned with the awarding of the Promotional Emblem "Teraz Polska" in the service category /in 1996, in the 6th edition of the contest/.
It should be proudly emphasized that our hotel is the first one in Poland to be honored with this prestigious prize. Since the beginning of existence of the P.H. Majewicz company, we have been included in the "Orbis" hotel network. In 1998 to 2001, we were active in the exclusive marketing program "Polish Prestige Hotels" and we participated in the program "Leisure & Heritage". In 2001, in the final of the 2nd edition of the contest organized by the European Integration Committee Office and Business Centre Club, we were awarded the honourable title "European Medal".

The Hotel "Pod Or³em", which is situated on Bydgoszcz's main high street, was designed in 1882 and is a perfect example of 19th century architecture inspired by the various tones of baroque and renaissance. (The hotel was entered into Bydogoszcz's Register of Monuments in 1974) A beautiful park lies on the hotel's east side.
The rich interior of the hotel has been refurbished and restored with new floors, a staircase, stylish stained-glass windows, a gold-plated balustrade, and marble finishes. The hotel has, therefore, been restored and decorated in traditional Polish style. Hotel "Pod Or³em" offers 39 single rooms and 32 double rooms as well as four luxury suites (including the Rubinstein Suite with a piano).
All the rooms have a bathroom (hair-dryers may be found in each one) and are each equipped with mini bars, satellite & pre-paid TV, radios, telephones and Internet access. A steam trouser press and safe deposit boxes can be found in all the elegant two-roomed suites. Some of the rooms, which face Gdańska Str., have their own private balconies. There is also a room especially designed for the handicapped and we have also designated one whole floor for non-smokers.
CONFERENCE OFFER
The Business Centre situated within the hotel is equipped with a secretary's office and multi-functional, air-conditioned conference halls capable of holding 150, 65, 35, 14 and 8 people respectively. All the conference halls are fully equipped with infrared sound systems; multi audio-visual equipment; Internet access; overhead and slide projectors, and "flip-charts", together with photocopying and faxing possibilities.
